The tasty new Vauxhall Astra has been launched, click image to enlarge.Vauxhall Astra 2010 Model Although not a massively advanced car it comes with a few new bits of tech such as “AFL” (the headlights!) “FlexFloor” (the boot!) & “FlexRide” (steering and damping). But that’s enough about car stuff, this post is about their 3D Augmented Reality feature which you can use yourself on their website, free.

Here is a demo of it in action, sent to us by Torque Astra, a community site ideal for those of you who love your Astras. Below that you will see the quick guide how to find the software so you can have a go.

Here is how to get to use the 3D Augmented Reality feature (you will need a webcam and a printer):

  • Visit the astra-and-action.co.uk website
  • Put your mouseover the ‘Gallery’ tab across the top (last one)
  • Click the ’3D Experience’ option
  • Follow the instructions on that page carefully

It’s a pretty cool thing to do as you can see in the demo, not a bad neither at all so worth checking out.
