I am fortunate to be able to work from home. It isn’t for everyone, however I love it and feel very privileged to do it. Whilst I am working in the day I do quite a lot of the types of jobs you would expect, such as checking emails, writing for blogs and using social media. The kitchen is often the hub of many homes, and much activity takes place within it. How cool is this design? Though at first glance this appears like any other screwpull, this particular version of the classic model is fitted with “Activ-Ball” technology, whereby after uncorking the wine bottle, a small ball pushes the cork off of screwpull. It is also designed to fit thin and wide wine bottle necks. If you are an active wine drinker, then you will know what an outstanding invention this is.
Joseph Joseph Smasher Pump-action Potato Masher
The Joseph Joseph Smasher potato masher, makes short work of spuds and any other vegetable that has the misfortune to be trapped between the mashers especially designed plates, and spring loaded design. A fantastic point about this clever device, is that it is dishwasher safe. Result!
This handy gadget, takes the effort out of opening tins. Simply place the gadget on top of the tin and press a button. The machine will cut the top off the tin, and the device’s magnets, will hold the now removed lid in place to avoid mess. Ideal, where hand movements are impossible.
Last by no means least we have the Microplane Grater. Ideal for grating any ingredient you care to mention, this device can make short work of garlic too. For many kitchen aficionados, this kitchen gadget is often voted number one. Originally, microplane graters were used to grate wood until a Canadian woman saw its potential in the kitchen. Presumably, she was hungry. A must have, if ever there was one.
These gadgets are by no means extensive, and there were some that just didn’t quite make this list, that could be of real help when preparing a meal.
