SuperAntiSpyware Review & Usage Screenshots

SAS InstallationSuperAntiSpyware is, as the name suggests, software to remove Spyware from your computer. As well as Adware and other nasties such as Malware, Parasites, Trojans, Rootkits and more. It is available in free and paid versions, but is it any good?

This is a review of Version 4.49.1000.

Setup
Installation is very quick. Simply download the file from their website and begin the installation as you do with any software. A couple of clicks later it was installed, it then gives you the option to retrieve the latest definitions which you should always do. About 30seconds later job done. You also get the option to register your email address if you wish to receive updates, but this is optional.

Main Menu
Upon start-up the main menu has a very simple layout, with descriptions for each section, it is easy to use. The design and feel of it are nothing glamorous but it is very functional, substance over style is always important with software like this.

Scanning
During scanning I carried on my regular work without any problems. I was opening folders/files on my laptop and using my web browser (to draft this review!) and all was perfectly smooth, no issues or noticeable slowdown.

Once completed a summary pops up with the results. You then decide what you would like to do with the files it has found, in my case it located ’465 files’ of which all were tracking cookies which I just elected to remove as they are nothing dangerous. I keep my laptop clean anyway with regular scans so didn’t expect it to find much, if anything.

Difference Between Free and Professional?
With the free version it will detect and remove many types of threats and do either; quick, complete or custom scanning. But with the professional it also; provides real-time blocking of threats, registry protection against browser hi-jackers, auto scans, automatically updates itself, you get free email support and you can schedule regular scans. There are other benefits to but I’ll be here all day!

If you want to try out the pro version you can do so in full for 15 days before you need a license. All downloads can be done via their website superantispyware.com.

To pay for a license for ‘SuperAntiSpyware Professional’ costs $29.95, on top of that you can pay another $9.95 for a lifetime subscription so you don’t have to renew yearly. Which if the software remains a solid performer seems like good value to me. They also have a 30 day money-back guarantee if you change your mind soon after purchase.

First Impressions – Conclusion
It is quick and easy to use. And my laptop continues to run well during scanning. Of course, with such a product the real proof in the pudding will be long-term to see how it protects my laptop. But based upon initial usage I have no complaints and can only give high praise. I will be continuing to use it for the foreseeable future, and would recommend it to you to try out.

Screenshots (in order during usage)
There is no need for a step-by-step how to guide for this software because it is so easy to use. Here are some of my screenshots during usage.
