Matias, who design accessories for Mac products have come up with a simpler way of charging your iPod or iPhone, with their specially designed USB lead.
The Tune Blocker has two modes. Block iTunes, and Sync and charge, and is compatible with iphone and ipods with doc connectors.
By selecting the Block iTunes, the media centre doesn’t load when you plug in your iPhone or iPod to your computer.
- Stops songs being overwritten.
- Enables charging from any computer without the need for syncing.
- Stops itunes from automatically starting.
- Makes charging your ipod or iphone a simpler process when that is all you want to do.
The Matias Tune Blocker’s secondary mode is Sync and charge, which does exactly what it says on the tin and works like your standard USB cable.
The lead also works with power adaptors too. The Tune Blocker is due for realease in March 2009. There are two versions planned for release, the three foot cable version and the six foot cable version.
Prices
- Three foot cable version $24.99.
- Six foot cable version $29.99.

Will this kit solve your song overwriting problems? If you’ve had problems before with your itunes doing a sync despite having the “never auto sync” setting on it looks like a few dollars well spent.
