This is the BDP3000 blu-ray player released by Philips and on sale now at the reasonable price of £149.99 from Amazon. It is the little bro of the BDP7300 which costs around £225.
The Philips BDP3000 is a good looking unit and should complement most TVs, it also has a decent spec as well. The player is the cheapest so far from Philips and represents good value for money with; full 1080p playback, Div X compatibility, USB connectivity, x.v.colour technology and it also supports EasyLink (multiple devices from one remote).
As with other machines at this price it doesn’t have analog surround-sound outputs, so make sure you have a modern AV receiver with a HDMI input if you want to experience the Dolby TrueHD 7.1 sound. You can compare it to similar items for sale in UK.
And if you’re worried about the electric bills it is even somewhat eco-friendly as it consumes only 0.5W when on standby. All round this looks like a decent product from Philips.
