Nokia 5800 XpressMusic Review – Hands On With The Smartphone

Dubbed the Nokia tube, it’s set to be set in stone as one of Nokia’s greatest achievements, comparable that of its landmark phones the 3210 and 6610i. I’ve been waiting to try this candy bar of an offering, especially how Hersheys launch in the UK has been such a disappointment.

Nokia 5800The 5800 makes the iPhone look like a toy by comparison. While I did quite rightly say it did come as a candy bar of an offering, its always gives a sweet sensation. Enough to get even the most technophobes giddy with excitement. As for the aesthetics of the 5800, I can’t see where it has gone wrong, it feels smooth and as bold as any other phone in its class.

The tube comes with a fantastic 3.2 mega-pixel camera with dual led flash lights to take photos in places where their are a whole load of contrasting lights, such as a party, club or bar. Taking still photography doesn’t stop their, the video recording feature on the tube is almost DVD quality, dare I say even as close to the Samsung Pixon’s level, if not, better! It even comes with a small editing suite built into the standard software package.

Music is probably where it shines the most, scratch that, that was an understatement. It completely blinds and blows your mind away. The sound quality is of such astounding quality, I could have mistaken the 5800 for a pair of high quality speakers!

Web Browsing has always been a problem, and no mobile manufacturer has seem to got it right…until now, it was amazing, I would definitely trade in my Archos to surf the net with the tube. The fun doesn’t stop their, their are loads of goodies to download for free from Nokia Mosh, ranging from the huge array of music available too third party applications.

Sell your gran and all of your hair, you definitely want to be part of this great leap in technology!
