You might be surprised to see that the price of the Wii had increased from the last year. While last year the price of a Wii was settled for a $476.11 pricetag, just for the Wii system. This year that number inflated to 538.80$. So this year the Wii price is $60 more expensive. I know it’s hard to belive , we can’t belive it either.

Our opinion is that you should never buy a Wii from their stores, because there are always Amazon’s third party seller options, where you could get one cheaper. Direct from your favorite chain retailer still seems like the best bet to score a Wii, because while they are in short supply, at least you can buy one for $250 (what the Wii should cost).
I don’t pretend to know the ins and outs of the wholesale world, but I think it’s time for Nintendo to take names and be more choosy to whom they sell their consoles.

I don’t see why any of you are surprised. The value of the dollar has fallen an incredible amount over the last few years. The Exchange rates average has gone from 92 in 2005 to 74 this year. You should expect prices to all begin rising as retailers and manufacturers become unable to absorb the losses. To see for your self, just google: U.S $ INDEX (NYBOT:DX)and look for the chart.

Chris,
Yeah, prices will go up, but it will also make the US look more attractive for investment, both internationally and domestically.
So we buy fewer imported consumer goods, and keep our dollars stateside.
As far as the Wii… I’ll stick with my computer and bum time on my brother’s x-box.
