Sprint have announced their new $50 per month unlimited wireless calling plan, it will be sold via Boost Mobile which is a Sprint brand. This is a big drop considering most plans are around the $100 mark.
There is a very good chance this will spark a price war causing other carriers to react to being undercut in such a drastic way. The unlimited plan becomes available on January 22nd, it is for the US only.
With the current economic situation this looks a sure fire popular service. Do you think it will cause a price war amongst carriers?

I hope so. I really hope so! That way ALL consumers win, regardless of carrier, regardless of whether they are with Boost or not. And maybe the other MVNO’s like Virgin Mobile and Tracfone will cut prices too or give more for the same price…fingers crossed!
