I noticed this little hardback wonder whilst I was sprawling through the weekly computer fair in London. I saw a shrewed onyx black sparkling behind the the badly drawn “for sale” sign. I gendered closer at the netbook and behold it was a Lenovo, “my lucky day” I exclaimed.
First of all, its a net-book, which are conventionally smaller than regular notepads. Their processor speed and screen size is much smaller and it’s pretty much the size of a hardback novel.
It comes packed with a 10.2″ TFT Screen, which quite good, thin and very fluid, doesn’t look like its cloudy at all, one must always be wary of that. Essentially this is for Internet use, so I tried running a couple of applications, such as Google Apps, Internet Explorer and Microsoft Outlook, and I must say the 1.6GHz really packed a punch and had them up and running with no problem. I tried visiting YouTube, I was quite happy with what YouTube have done with the larger video display, it really does suit Net-book users to view their favourite YouTube videos. HD function on YouTube also works a delight on the Net-book. The 1.3MP camera built into the Laptop is pretty good as-well, surprisingly good quality for something that has only been recently introduced to net-books.
Now it comes to usability, Ii thought it was quite good, the buttons feel very responsive, the cursor speed does need to be tweaked a little, since i thought it was a bit too fast for my liking, I do have pretty thin fingers so this suits me perfectly, however fat fingered people may have a hard time.
It does exactly what it says on the tin, just a net-book to do quick word processing and surfing the Internet whilst your out and about. A recommended buy for those who dont want to lug around their laptops and want a more discreet outdoor computing experience.
