The DSLR (digital single-lens reflex) camera goes on sale in the UK October 2009. So why does it cost so much? It has a whopping 37.5 megapixels for a start, this is also the 1st camera in the new ‘S-system’ from Leica. According to the manufacturers it combines the positives of a medium-format camera with the handling of a digital SLR.

So if you want one it may be time to forget that holiday and get in an hour or two, or three of overtime ready for when it goes on sale in October!
