Microsoft has begun testing its new search program, going by the name of Kumo. Microsoft have said it will help users reduce the high percentage of unanswered queries currently generated by other search engines.
One nice feature will be a hover preview and we are expecting other tools which will make the search function very effective for finding what you want.
At the moment the quality of search results Microsoft produce compared to Google are poor. In fact most times I search I come across completely crap websites, hence why most people like myself stick with Google. I think Microsoft have to address this issue first before adding fancy hover features and the like.
Google has a whopping 85% market share on searches, but can Kumo help Microsoft eat into that? Maybe a tiny bit, but realisticly I don’t see it having a lasting effect.
