A lot of Americans are very satisfied with the internet via cable and DSL, but Japan is hoping to provide access to more regions in Asia-Pacific with its recently launched Kizuna. For now, the experimental satellite won’t available for commercial use but if all goes well, it will be able to transmit up to 1.2 gigabytes per second at a low cost across Japan and 19 other locales in Southeast Asia. Unfortunately we don’t know when will see this one ready to be used but at least we can salute Japan’s intention to establish a wireless island.
