CeBit 2007, Hannovre - Announced at the begining of the month and expected with eagerness by all at CeBit, Fifth Media’s AXIA HSDPA Multimedia STB platform didn’t disappoint. This setup-box is a convergence platform that succedes in combineing 3.5 Mobile Broadband with Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, at the same time offering GSM,SIP and VoIP, IPTV communications. “Fun” wasn’t left aside, Media Streaming being incorporated and neither were the utilities, equiped with ePayment type software applications. Running on a Microsoft platform, AXIA HSDPA Multimedia STB is extremly versatile and can be used in a bunch of domains, starting from house survailance applications to PBX systems. It supports GSM quad-band, HSDPA, UMTS, EDGE, GPRS, Bluetooth 2.0 and has a 802.11g WiFi built-in acces point.

From a multimedia perspective it can handle MP3, WMA, MPEG4 si WMV Music and Video. Further more, do to it’s SIP server it offers the possibility for a larger group of users to make VoiP conversations simultaneously. As for it’s payment system, the device can work as a payment terminal for classic smart-cards and for contactless one as well.

AXIA can be accesed using a touch-screen LCD, but also using a traditional mouse and keyboard togheter with a VGA monitor.
