The Masters of the Universe have gladly given me access to a beauty of a gaming machine. Now I know what your saying…..Acer? Normally, I would agree with you, Acer has probably had the worst build quality of Laptops for years, prone to overheating and pieces of its case falling off. I would normally recommend you to buy a Dell or a Toshiba rather than parting with your cash on an Acer.

But things have changed over the last few months; Acer has been producing masterful pieces of technology. My attention directed to the Acer Aspire 8930, when I saw its keyboard light up with an ominous blue glow.
Let’s take a quick whiz at the looks of the laptop, it’s got a massive 18.4″ LCD Screen giving a euphoric 16:9 Aspect ratio to view your Blu-ray discs on and as well as a HD TV Tuner Output to give a Full HD Experience.
Other features that the Laptop boasts is a built in 1MP web camera, which I found astoundingly of high quality. The Laptop also houses built in Bluetooth.
As for performance, it’s unparallel! Compared to a Dell XPS M1730, I found it to play the most demanding computer games of today, such as FarCry 2, Red Alert 3 and even Mirrors Edge, which kind of made me a bit of a rubble at the pit of my stomach and gave me a new fear of vertigo was brought to life with powerful NVidia GeForce 512mb 9700M GT. It houses a mighty Intel Core 2 Duo T9400 / 2.53 GHz Processor and gives an ample 4GB of Ram so you can play your game with efficiency.
As for space, I found it a bit lacking, only 320GB on its hard-drive, I would have preferred to see at least 500GB of space for this caliber of laptop.
However saying that, the Laptop is pretty much a success. Although it hasn’t healed Acer’s wounds just yet, it has began to mend the fabric of consumers trusting the Acer brand. This is a recommended buy for laptop shoppers!
The Laptop is available to purchase worldwide, for more info visit: Acer or buy from Amazon UK.

For all the people who have the overheating problem. Open the main panel and take out the fan. it’s in there with 3 screws
you should find a lot of dust inbetween the fan and the heatpipe. clean it and put it back. my laptop went from 110°C to 64°C while playing gta 4
i hope this can help you guys out
