The waters begin to clear in the over-mediated Android Google Phone system. According to the unofficial T-Mobile blog, it will be launched by HTC on September 17, as “G1″, the top network for T-Mobile. A week later, HTC G1 will be announced globally.
In the T-Mobile exclusive week, customers will benefit a promotional price of only $150 (subscription, of course), then the cost will increase by 33% periodically, until it reaches $400 threshold.
Regarding specifications, G1 will be a slider with generous touchscreen (exact dimensions are not known yet, but it seems that will be similar to the iPhone), QWERTY keyboard, room photo 3 MP, 3G connectivity and Wi-Fi. It remains to see if these rumors are true or not.
Update: New York Times informs us that the phone system with Google Android and produced by HTC will be launched in the United States most likely in October 2008. Below is the first video with HTC G1 in the “meat and bones”.
