You may have noticed that many businesses use email hosting services, either for external communications, or for within the business itself. This can have a number of advantages for an organizations or almost any size or function.
One of the main advantages is that it allow businesses to have a personalized image. Most large corporate organizations are able to run their own email hosting services in order to do this. However, small and medium sized businesses may choose to use an external email hosting service provider in order to do the same thing. This is ideal for smaller organizations which might otherwise struggle to compete with much bigger companies, as they are no longer immediately distinguishable from their larger or more corporate counterparts.
However, even large businesses will undoubtedly benefit from being having a more instantly recognizable email address. As an ever-increasing amount of business communications take place online, it is essential that companies are recognizable, even when individuals are not.
Email hosting can also mean that organizations are less susceptible to internet viruses and spam. Most email hosting services have inbuilt security software, which protects computers from online bugs and scams. In organization where email is used as the primary means of communication between large numbers of colleagues, this can be essential in preventing such threats from quickly circulating an entire company. Virus protection software can be expensive, whilst email hosting services which can offer a reasonable degree of protection can be a far less costly option for many business organizations.
Email hosting also has the advantage of being stable and reliable – something which is essential for most organizations, and particularly those which conduct most of their business via email. If there were to be a problem with your system, for example, you would usually expect to have twenty-four hour access to support services who would assist in fixing the problem. Such direct support services would not be supplied by free web mail providers, and thus any problems could result in significant disruptions. This could have serious implications for businesses who are reliant on such services.
The advantages of emailing hosting are often seen to far outweigh the minimal costs of these services. Implementing such systems is usually quite straightforward, thus making it an attractive option for small-scale businesses, as well as larger enterprises. Businesses and organizations should certainly take such benefits into consideration when setting up corporate emailing facilities.

Another benefit of this, at least for my business, is that I have don’t have to have a techie on staff but rather simply call my hosting provider whenever we have issues. We’re only eight people, so having an extra person’s salary and benefits to pay is a big cost for us. It’s just less overhead and less worry all the way around.
