Things are getting bad to worse for AMD, who slipped the shipping date of their 2.4GHz Phenom 9700 and 2.6 GHz 9900 CPUs. Initially announced for Q1, it seems that the quad-core CPUs are now expected for Q2 2008. We don’t know for sure, but we think that their 2.8GHz and 3GHz processors, which were expected in late Q2, will also slip their shipping date. Anyway, a lot of AMD’s fans will be very dissapointed to hear about this delay, especially when they will find out that AMD made this decision to maximize sale of existing processor line-ups. Meanwhile, AMD is expected to focus on its tri-core “Toliman” processors.
