Mobile phone operator 3 has announced it’s mobile Wi-Fi service, which is going by the name of Mifi. It will be in the UK by Christmas 2009.
It works by a wireless modem which sends out a Wi-Fi signal, and then you are able to connect a variety of Wi-Fi enabled devices to the web, all at the same time, and whether at home or on the go. 3 are saying it offers the most convenient way to get internet access since the dongle two years ago.
They also claim it will be very easy to set-up with no software installation required. To use you simply switch on the modem and connect the device with an eight-digit key which you only have to input once.
The solution is said to be suitable for personal and business use. Pricing hasn’t yet been announced and will be known closer to launch date.
