Recently, the guys from Microsoft opened an official blog related to Windows 7, where the team working at the future operating system will post throughout the work to the new version of Windows various information about the development process.
According to that post, no less than 1,000 people are trying to make Windows better than 7 Vista. If we take a look at the number of poeple involved, we can say that chances that Windows 7 to be better than Vista are very high. The 1000 guys are divided into 25 teams of every 40 people. Each team is dedicated to a particular field. Some dealing with security, other interface, networking and the others so.

Um, no…. This is a continuation of Microsoft’s problem. They have too many people working on individual aspects of Windows, and not enough communication between layers. There’s cut-throat competition between teams, little collaboration, and the propagation of updates throughout the code repository takes place at a snail’s pace.
I, for one, will be flabbergasted if Windows 7 is any better than Vista. Looks like 2009 may be the year for Ubuntu and the Mac to dominate.
